 Just read the three great reviews in Hi FI plus by RG and Alan Sircom. The magazine states that they must cover
all types off music and move with the times great but what happened to AV REceivers the likes of the Arcam AV600 or the
NAD T785 just to name a couple who music wise would hold their own with a lot off reviewed amps. IS it the dirty word Dirty word Video. Why not listen to and review the Arcam 600 or the NAD T785 in their direct music mode and print a review
after all hundreds of your readers listen to and watch these
machines is it not high time for a change without breaking the
magazine. Regards Noel W.

i can only think that is a hi-fi based mag! there are other mags that specialise on av reviews i think,
nando.

the new sony str-dn 1000 is super, so is the new denon, personally i beg to differ, i think we need dedicated mags for individul two channel hi-fi and dedicated a.v. on others.
nando.

Noel, maybe buy an AV mag, instead of polluting a hi-end 2 channel mag.

Yes i agree it is a hi-end mag.probably to high-end for the likes of a
Arcam 600. But then it is not to hi-end for i-pod and computer junk
Well maybe i am getting to old things just sound different.

Simple answer - it doesn't play well with the readership. 'Doesn't play well' being the polite answer. sq225917's suggestion that AV 'pollutes' two-channel magazines is a very strongly-held opinion among Hi-Fi Plus reading audiophiles.

I would love to cover things like Blu-ray multichannel music. BRD concerts and operas are frequently superb. And surround sound - done properly - is extremely good. However, I think I'd get fewer complaints if I ran a feature entitled 'Clubbing baby seals for fun and profit'

On a point of principle Alan you should cover no such thing until they unlock the PCM data stream downmix for us 2 channellers to use.
