Been using a an audio lab 8000 dac with a pioneer pd-s904 as a transport, which sounds very good, for the past year, after my genki packed in after 20 years of use.
Does any one know if the audio lab 8000cdm transport would be worth buying to replace the pioneer or are any differences minimal one way or the other.
Playing through nac/72 and nap140 naim combo and linn katan speakers.
OK thanks
Mick

Sonically, there will be no difference as both will output a standard error corrected S-PDIF stream into your DAC. The DAC won't know or care where the stream comes from.

The only benefit I can think of for the audiolab transport is a visual match, and to keep your Pioneer as a spare, as CD transports aren't getting any easier to find.
