If you change your mind let me know - and save me from having to buy a new Marantz .... :-)

Dickon

I decided to keep it because no-one wants to pay a sensible price for it so last weekend I got it out of its box and started listeining to it again.

It definately sounds way more musical and magical than the Transporter, let alone the DEQ2496, the analogue stages of which are pretty mediocre in unmodified form.

Then again if I let it go, I could get a first class DAC instead and that would allow me to use the Transporter and the DEQ2496 and still get a musical performance as well as a convenient one.

I was asking £1000 delivered which is a bargain for a machine of this calibre.

Must say i'm surprised no one took it.

Hi Andy!

It's unbelievable.

Now I've come to my senses and realised that I can't live without really good hifi and I need to keep the ART, everyone wants to buy it!

A month ago when I was still in La La Land believing that my other kit was good enough, guys were offering silly amounts like £600 (I kid you not).

Now I'm going to keep it, they are fighting over it and offering more than I was asking.

You couldn't make it up

I'll say one thing though. The Behringer DEQ2496 might have mediocre analogue outputs but the Behringer A500 amp is another thing altogether. I currently have the ART feeding straight into the A500 and it sounds very very good. I would put it up against any hifi power amp up to a grand or so. At £125 it has to be the biggest bargain in hifi at the moment. It will take something truly special to supplant it (and I think I know just the thing but that will have to wait).
