Well, any need to come into the real world has been put back, by my attaining a job which involves tinkering with hifi and HTPCs, starting tomorrow. Ahh, what fun...

I'm working as an electronic engineer for Vivadi (www.vivadi.com). It manages to combine my passions for hifi and computers in pretty much a dream job, and get paid pretty good money for it! :D

I'm impressed! Unless they employ TAG management, they should storm the market.

I have always thought the way ahead was modular: a plug-n-play music centre! Plenty of scope for developing new features without huge costs to the company. They look nice as well. Do they work with real speakers too??

    You lucky lucky person :)

Have they got an opening for a listening test person or a sponsored product tester (read breaker) - if a component has a bug in it I'll be guaranteed to find it quite by accident within about a minute of being let loose on it!

Cheers guys, it's been an interesting day. My first major job (aside from cups of tea, finding various bits of kit and whatnot) is to fix a humming amplifier... Have to teach it the words...
