I used to have a pair of these (1984-1992 approx). The main drivers fell apart and had to be replaced and the aluminium fixings around the electronics corroded. I can see why a pair today would need an overhaul. I must say I liked them, particularly on Classical music, but I would not buy a pair today! In fact they were so unusual that in the end I gave them away (too big for most rooms, not very well known or popular-too say the least- with most people involved with HiFI).

Having strayed to an all cone design (TDL monitors) for a few years, I am now using Quad ESL63s with Gradient SW63s- a hybrid system like to DM70s, but much better in my opinion. I think there was a set of SW63s on Ebay the other day and ESL63 prices seem to be falling now they have become the "pre-penultimate" Quad design.
