bargain of the month..?

hi guys - just got a new amp - when i say new, i mean it hadn't even been taken out of the box (warantee seal intact!) nevermind used...!

got it from fleabay and it's a Cairn 4808A and how much did I pay for this..?

277 quid... plus postage of course - got it on my desk and will set it up tonight...!

how many hours can i expect it to take before its firing on all cylinders..?

Seriously, my valves sound rubbish (comparatively) untill good half hour of warming up.

With a day off, it wouldn't be the first time I just leave it on repeat with the sound down.

ok, got it setup and after about an hours warming it sounds great! tho, it's not as loud as previous amps - but it has a lush warm sound..

the remote doesn't work tho.. when I got it out of the wrapper I had to click it back closed...may just buy a cheapo universal one...
