The BBC Radio 3 HD stream at 320kb/s has been moved on the BBC iPlayer - there is now an HD button to press.

The 320kb/s stream has been showing in Squeezebox menus for weeks, but suddenly disappeared. It mat be found right at the bottom of the top level iPlayer folder not in Listen Live, but in a Folder called Special Events.

And very nice it is too.

The experts on the Squeeezbox forum report that the normal BBC stream is now 192kb/s even though it is displaying as 128kb/s

I cannot say how this affects those who use other means to receive the BBC Radio Streams.

Very welcome development.
Let's hope this trend extends to the other BBC stations in time.

Some superb Christmas concerts going out on R3 all day today, some of them live.
Putting it all onto hard disc (8 hours or so) and will top and tail into sections later.

Using "Listen Again" to listen this morning.

The Squeezebox iPlayer Pluging reports 128kb/s, but the gurus tell me it's 192.

Either way, it's very nice.

just listened to half of Gardiners 10th Aniversary Bach Christmas concert via the HD stream - couldn't watch teh rest, I had to watch...Top Gear with my son afterwards so missed it. Ravishing. Please dear BBC keep them coming.

BTW Top Gear was a robust substitute so thanks for that as well BBC!

You will probably get it tomorrow on "Listen Again" - it will be at 192kb/s and not 320, but still very good.

ok, that's what's on the agenda - though I have a Christmas party to attend from lunch onwards (as boss so no shirking the rounds). Look forward to embarrassing posts tomorrow evening...
