Possibly either an sme30/well tempered ref sir.
nick, AS I've never heard an ultimate phono stage I can't comment sir, as for every thing up to £3k so far yes with ease.
Though it would be a crying shame just to use for a phono stage, as the pre-amp is superb.

The very best phono stages I have had the privilidge of hearing are custom built units delivery time is 6 months.
The a re deisgned and constructed by a little old man (62) who works in 2 sheds connected by a long corrigated tunnel. (true)
Words cannot discribe how good these units are, the price however is a little more unfriendly.
They are not retailed, the gentleman onlys does business with what he considers genuine customers who have heard his creactions. a very select group.
For me I more than happy with red book sir.
