I don't know about you but I think 2004 has been a very good year for music, new bands are coming through and the domimance of rnb and dance is finally fading.

Which is your favourite of the following who have been active in the music industry in the last year?

1. Favourite Album: Killers - Hot Fus
2. Favourite band: Killers or Zutons
3. Favoruite song: This is a tough one, I need more to think!
4. Favoruite gig: Again this is a tough one, a toss up between Rob Gretton tribute night (New Order/Doves in a small club), Morrissey (Move festival Manchester), Morrissey (Dublin Point).
5. Favourite solo artist: Morrissey
6. Worst band: Goldie looking chain
7. Worst solo aritist: Any talentess 20 year old bimbo singing crappy covers
8. Favourite club: 42nd Street, Manchester
9. Band that influences me most this year (can be anything from 1952 onwards) - The Smiths
10. Best live venue - Not sure, possibly Manchester Apollo or one of the Acedemys. The Roadhouse is a very nice venue, really freindly but stage too small.
11. Favourite new comer - The Bravery
12. Band to watch in the future: The Performance

At this point I shall be quiet :) Music has been so good this year its difficult to to pick a bad act, I am just into hip hop or Welsh opera :D

Maybe I should have just choosen Westlife for my west band. Thats the only thing guarenteed not to cause offense :)

Perhaps it would be for the best if this thread was now locked to prevent other such silly suggestions ;)

There's a lot of jokes which I suspect don't come across as well to those who don't know Newport, but still, I think the album works as MOre than just a joke.

Certainly wouldn't call it the worst band of the year!
