It is silly. When I lived in Kent we had London Manston Airport on the isle of Thanet. It was absurd, since the transport links were so bad through that part of kent that it would take about 2.5 hours to get to london, no matter how you went (train, road, etc).

Thankfully it's now been renamed to Kent International Airport, or, appropriately, KIA.

It is like Barton Aeorodome, Peel Holdings thought it would be great to call it Manchester City Airport. That is fine, but it is just as grass landing strip, it has no runways.

Unless Easyjet start operating Cesna's it is pure sillyness.

My favourite from that bastard O'Leary is 'Verona Airport', known only as that to Ryanair.

The rest of the world knows it as 'Brescia Montichari'. It's 65km from Verona, or about 80 Euro in a taxi.

    Twats.
