Blake's 7

Anyone know if the original series is available on DVD? I searched Netflix to no avail.

The group behind the new show say it has endured better than any other British sci-fi series, and there is a strong global appetite for science fiction.

so doctor who doesn't exist then.

but it would be nice to see a decent revival of the series. bring back the liberator too not the daft little ship although glynis barber definately brightened the place up a bit. bring her back too although it was 20 years ago, maybe not.

I guess because I wasn't old enough when Blakes 7 was first on, the gaucy cheese factor is lost on me... Kind of like Juliet Bravo to someone who's 18...

Seriously - I just didn't get Blakes 7 - it was baaaaaad...

Thanks for the links guys -- I searched on Amazon some months ago and turned up nothing. It's all there now!

I remember loving this when I was kid, but can well imagine that it'd look plenty cheesy by today's standards -- I'll try it again anyway :)

must admit i saw it on uk gold or uk rerun or whatever a few months ago and it bored the pants off me except for the bits with glynis barber in gold lame. i seem to remember the 2nd series being better than the 1st but it wasn't something that i religeously sat down to watch.

auric, if they are on a uk number plate as i'd rather have a B7 than some B5 :D oh i crack myself up... er i'll get me coat.

to answer your question though they're a bit apples and oranges but if i was forced to watch all the episodes of one with a gun to my head it would be b5.
cheers

Is that due to your vested interest as Avon's body stunt double John ? ;)

Blake's 7 was far far better than Doctor Who. To a large extent it was the interplay between characters that made it more interesting.

Dom, you don't want to watch just the one episode, you need to at least see 2 or 3 consecutive ones to get an idea, preferably from the nearer the start the better.

Cheers

Hi Andy

???
Never heard of it I'm afraid.

In the singular form, wasn't it a track by Ziggy Marley? :D:D

Cheers
