I've ordered some things from an ebay seller.
I'm wondering what the deal is on taxes and duty and such.
They're shirts which probably retail close to £50 over here. Will I be charged based on that (and any idea how much?), or on the price I've paid (under £15 inc P+P).

I've only ordered 2, but he has a few I'd like but want to know how much they'll really cost me before going ahead with the others.

    Cheers.

I've bought some bits and bobs from a company called speakerbits in Oz on two occasions (both packages cost me around £100), and I have no recollection of paying any additional duty at all.

<£15-30 (it depends on what kind of day the customs officer is having) then there is no duty to pay. In theory its £15/16 but I have had stuff marked as under $50 come in without duty.

I would think you will have no problems at all.

If there are charges you will get.

    1. Duty - between 0 and 10% of the value
    2. VAT - 17.5%
    3. Handling Charge (from the shipper - the biggest rip off IMO) probably about £10.
