Anybody know the contact details of Cambridge Audio? I got a Discmagic 1 transport but it didn?t come with a remote. I cant see any contact details on their site.

I am tempted to get one of those Cambridge Audio universal remotes with LCD touch screen but I really don?t need it for just a CD player and a tuner I hardly ever use!

I am not sure what Transports they use, some Cambridge Audios use Sony transports. You can buy cheap £5 generic remotes that can be programmed to work with your CDP. You just need to find out who makes the transport.

I did know but I have forget, others on here will know.

Do the transport mech's determine the remote codes used then? Didn't realise that!

I think Cambridge charge extra for the remote, or at least they did on the older products.

Yeah I got it off eBay which is why it didn't come with one I think. But I still want one! I can't do random, or repeat or program it or whatever. Though most importantly I can't pause it in the dark.

Yep I had an old Goodmans CDP my parents used, on invesigation I found out the transport was Pioneer so I keyed in the Pioneer reomote code and bingo it worked!

The transport is supplied by manfuacteres seem to come with the display unit and the remote sensor, then the manufacteres add their own DACs and analogue preout circuits.

the cambridge audio should be a philips control system... i think its a 12 series transport amd therefore any maratnz remote should work fine.. or indeed the remote from audiolab kit.
