I assume its just a Project 2?

It looks a like like my Debut but with a thicker arm.

 

Correct, its effectively a rebadged Project with a custom arm and platter.

Ouch that is very pricey!

At least RS have been honest though and said its based on a Project.

Seems a lot of money for a motor, a bit of MDF, an arm and cartridge.

 

Especially as the first thing you'd want to do it dump that AT95!

I got a better cartridge on my Project which cost me £110 7 years ago .

 

But Rob, yours is only a 33. Thats a 95.. thats like nearly 3 times more!

 

I just hate the way RS are trying to stick a premium badge to cheap products. This is a £350 turntable with a Cartridge that retails for £20? Something does not add up, I would at least expect an Elan on there.

£300 gets you a very nice TT second hand, or a very nice new Rega.

 

Yes but this isn't second hand it's new and unlike the basic project decks gets an acrylic platter.

The cart choice seems purely for completeness rather than any sense of usuability. Price wise what Rega are you looking at for the price?

I don't think you can accuse Richers of sticking a premium badge to any cheap product.
