How long do you have to sell it ?

I would expect highest cash reward would be to break it up and sell them all single.

What about a stall at a music exchange swap meet ? Otherwise could be a dealer, however I expect you would offer peanuts.

Do you know any friends into the music you have ?

There are a couple of obvious places, flea-bay for one and other being GEMM.com (which I personally will not recommend as their customer service is terrible when things go wrong and their fees to customers are very high).
However, the online music database www.discogs.com is very good. I have been transfering my own stock to this site as you can easily look up your release and if it's not listed add it.
Serious collectors use this site and I have found some of my old Soul and Reggae go for good money on here. ;)

    Hi Nando

The 5K+ of albums just got too much eh?

How about putting a few of the highlights on here for your fellow forum users?

Make sure they go to a good home.

    Hi Nando,

Sounds that you may have some interesting stuff. I may be interested in what you may have. I collect disco, funk, reggae, ska and soul.
    Do you have a list?

As for selling, it depends if you want top dollar or just want to get rid. If you are after the best price, you need to sell the more valuable one seperately. Rare funk, soul and reggae can go for big money. I had a mate who recently sold a rare 7" soul single for over £3500.

A dealer can offer you peanuts for the lot. They may even cherry pick the best ones out of the box so you could still be left with loads.

If you want good money on ebay, you need to go to town with the descriptions.

It might be well out of your way but try:

    www.vinylexchange.co.uk

It's a great shop, decent people too, used to go there all the time. Never sold to them mind, just bought. Got mint 12" of 'Space Face' by sub sub from there last year.

They don't shout it out on the web site but they always used to have a reasonable Reggae section too. Always wanted the original copy of 'catch a fire' they had but it was tooo much for me.
