decent speaker cable for my system..?? - main speakers...

the setup is that the main speakers plug into the NAD, and the other speakers usually plug into my yammy...

at the moment I'm using bog standard Gale XL315, I did buy some monster from fleabay but gave them away as they sounded worse!!

any ideas..??

cheers! :D

The Missing link cyro reference cable has bettered all cables tried regardless of price. Give mark a call on 0115 - 8779089 for details. Tell him David recommended you.
cheers

Don't buy any cable, Mr Cat. Buy your cat a nice toy mouse or some of that new luxury cat food that is becoming increasingly popular.

All cable sounds the same (except for weird cables that are badly designed). People who say otherwise are just imagining it and should not be listened to.

Seeing as how you are about to be snowed in for 6 months..you owe it yourself to try:

'2.5mm T&E'

just find it in your local DIY shop, about £12 a roll.

This has 2 cores + earth (naked copper) [red-n-black in my day, tho they may be changing nowadays due to new EEC rules]

OK, so you slit the first couple of cm of white outer sheath, then use some heavy pliers to grab the earth and pull like buggery...

Eventually you have enough red -n- black [2.5mm] to connnect your speakers. Buy some small cable ties [Maplin etc.] to bind the 2 together (it can improve it electrically being tied together)

The only downside is that it doesnt flex well so you have to know where to run it before you straighten it out.

Not trying to cause trouble, but that's the second time in three days you've plugged the missing link Class A. If you have some association with them that's fine, but please declare it. If not, my apologies for this post.

Hmm, visited the website. Didn't stay long though. When will people learn that putting a sound track on a website is dumb, especially if you don't give a mute option. I listen to music via my lappy when in work, and a webpage with music just pisses me off. Didn't even get a chance to learn about the products.

No offence taken. I have NO Bussiness association with the missing link, just trying to help people who ask for recommendations. I m clearly only giving my own opion how good their cables are and trying to save you guys some £££££ if you plan to buy with recommendation. Nothing more....nothing less.
Cheers

Doesn't have a soundtrack on my PC .

hi mr cat, I would stick with what you've got too.
Better to save for a component upgrade IMHO.

thats a relief - had seen some mixed reviews on the web...

You can save yourself the hassle by getting conduit cable, which is just the black or red cable without the grey/white sheath. Screwfix have it at £8 per 100m for the 2.5mm or the 4mm version for £15.
