Would appreciate some Capacitor advice gents !

Having read many many user reports regarding V-Cap Teflons I was all set to order enough high value caps to juice up a pair of mono-blocks ~ Unfortunately the maths worked out rather

I shall probably still go V-Cap for the 4 x 0.47's coupling caps however I would appreciate any feedback regarding the other contenders

Mundorf Mcap Supreme Silver/oil

Audio Note Copper foil's

TvM !

I've had rather nice results with humble paper in oil caps...mainly ex ussr military .....I ordered mine off ebay making the cost is quite low.

If you can run to the Teflon V-CAps then do so, I have a matched pair of 2.0uf in the output stage of a DAC and they are simply superb, a big improvement over the Jensens and Audio Note.
I've never tried Mundorf though.
One word of warning the V-Caps really do let everything (or as much as I've ever heard) through if you have any noise in the system you'll hear it.

Thanks for the feedback gents ~ Descided to order the V-cap 4x0.47 coupling caps and go with an M-cap/AN mix for the rest !

The Lardy V-Cap 0.47's have landed ~ couple of 'normal' coupling caps for scale  !!!

:) Imagine the size of the 2.0 uf ones! I had to heavily modify my DAC design to accomodate them. Well worth it though they are superb.

I am going to have to lash em well down

or they might break free and sink the ship :D !

Still at least they 'look' like your getting something for your dosh

I agonized over ordering some 0.22's and 0.1's at the same time however decided to see how the V-Cap coupling caps got along with some pretty decent Mundorf silver/oils first !

You can use some silicone sealant or epoxy resin to stick them to the pcb once you're sure you're happy with them.

I've used Mundorf ZN caps in my speaker crossovers with great results. The silver/oils are a step up from those so i'm sure you won't be disappointed. :D
