    Hi there, first post here.
Am searching for any info on an amp i've just aquired.
The amp in question is a Cemac Clifton, from what i can find they also made two other amps named the Firth and the Clyde, this is about all i know so any further info would be much appreciated.
says full bridge mode fet system, uses large Philips capacitors x6? and uses BFA Camcon speaker connectors.
Will post some pics taken by the previous owner whom also could find very little info.
    Many thanks and Regards, "Spica"...
ps. would post pics but not sure about this url of image goings-on...that went ok !

    very bumpy...

Google suggests that Cemac were a UK based company that started out in the 70's and manufactured amplifiers, changed it's name to the current one a couple of years back and are today mainly occupied with the making of industrial audio systems under the name Apex Audio Systems.

Must be worth a phone call...

Well, i half expected to get no joy from the call, how wrong i was, turns out the guy who answers the phone, "Craig Myers" was the designer of the cemac amp going on for 20 years ago, (What a score !) and to this day still uses one himself, says at the time it received good reviews from the hifi press (around 89) mentioning hifi choice. The amp was/is Something of a landmark design, he says, being the full bridge fet system which mimics Valve Amps, is especially good in the low frequencies, full circuit protection etc..
I asked, would it be ok if i contacted him when i received the amp, or in the future, if i had any further questions or a problem arose, in which he answered "yes of course", most obliging.
So i'm very happy, and am looking forward to hearing.
    Thanks again for your help.

Hi I have just bought a Cemac Clifton amplifier that needs a little repairing. Looks like the outputs have been shorted to the case near the speaker sockets. It is very hard to find any information on this amplifier, and the company has now closed. I would be grateful for anything including reviews
