    I read about that, but I decided that if their modelling model wasn't modelled correctly then however many PC's are churning away it doesn't mean they'll ever come up with the right answer....:D

    Anyway, I turn my PC off when I'm not using it ;)

    Its better than nothing though. I turn off too but not everyone does, at least its doing something vaguely useful that way.

    I would imagine they use probablisitc distributions samples of which are then distributed - it gives a more robust result and you dont need to have the model exactly right.

    Isn't the proper name for that "ensemble" forecast modelling? I should know this, but get bored to tears editing all the stuff for our website...

    No its not guessing it is producing a probabilistic range of outcomes and reduces the individual model dependency.

    Yes it is called ensemble forecast modelling.
