    Hello Dean,

The Grande features the worlds first production electromagnetic cone driver and has a sensitivity of 97db, as well as time focus adjustment facility both mechanically and electronically.
They are 2m tall, weigh 260 Kg's, brand new Beryllium II IAL tweeters, brand new driver cone technology, cabinet improvements and a superb new x/over array with hand selected special components.
Their offical launch will be Top Milan (same week as Heathrow), I cannot confirm or deny wether a pair will be in attendence.
The price of these amazing creations will be around the £100K mark.
The new range will start with the Utopia Diablo, (micro replacement) and assend to the Grande Utopia.
I suspect we will see you there Dean.
    Cheers Tony

'electromagnetic cone driver' ? sounds interesting.

I've wanted to hear a good field coil , and of course this technology goes back to 1890.

Will be interesting to see this on a cone.

Are you sure it's a world first mate? - I don't know anyone using this technology on a cone, but my knowledge lacks in many places!

Either way, good luck with the show - I'll drop by for a chat if I make it along. Hope you are well and everything is ok mate.

    Cheers
    Chris

Fertin do field coils on cones, as do others ... but no "large" manufacturer currently.

    Hi Tony,

Are sure about being the first production electromagnetic speaker. Western Electric and Altec were producing these a long time ago.

Shindo have made a field coil speaker.

GIP Labs make some interesting friver drivers.

These type of speakers tend not to be cheap.

Don't you just hate those manufacturesers who machine select their not so special components. You just can't beat the hand selected variety.

Well I suppose it's better than those manufacturers that simply use "specially selected" components, which I can only imagine is as opposed randomly drawn components from a hat :D
