Drools on keyboard.
How many people here would go that far and build a system like that if cash was no object ?
Probably not - or at least not on show. Call me shallow, but if I'm spending a lot of money I like my kit to be well designed ergonomically and aesthetically attractive or if they require no interaction from me such as power amps hidden - power amps the size of a 30 inch telly don't really fit that bill.
This is not a criticism of the guys system, which lets face it is pretty amazing, but it is all a bit messy and untidy. If money was no object I'd have a total swank pad like the one James Mason had in North by North West (old Hitchcock movie) - you know -
The one on top of mount rushmore (kind of) .
My "in my dreams" "money no object" system in such a set up would be nearly invisible - probably just a record deck a pre amp on display. I wouldn't have a CD player on display as I'd have my CD stuff burned to HD and run off one of the latest swanky iMacs (all that white perspex and aluminium, mmm

).
Of course, others would disagree and take the view that if you spend fabulous amounts of cash you would want everyone to see it. That's fine but I can't imagine James Mason putting up with that lot
Mind you I guess the question wasn't "if money were no object what kind of house would you live in and where would your stereo fit" so maybe I strayed a bit. I think the answer's still no - much prefer the minimalist scandinavian type design approach - to much bling and too many cables really wouldn't make Auntie a happy lady
PS. Still a bit envious though - but not of those chairs
PPS. The tape decks would be hidden behind electrically operated sliding panels - so I could pretend I was in Thunderbirds.
