WTB a DAC to connect my Squeezebox to a Roksan Kandy L MkIII amp. Anything (within reason) considered.

you may be best served waiting till the new cambridge audio dac comes out, i suspect it will be excellent, and likely very reasonably priced

Do we have any idea when it will materialise in the shops?
 
why would... its dreadful. My old £300 sony cd player sounded better than the squeezebox's own DAC
 
agreed, I really can't get on with the SB3 inbuilt dac either. Need to upgrade to an external one when funds allow.
 
Looked at the SB+ then instead of the stock SB?

I guess you get more flexibility with your own DAC
 
I use a LiteAudio DAC-AM currently, and previously a SuperDAC 2496. These are good, reasonably priced choices. NOSDAC if you like that sort of thing also...

The upgraded power supply I built for the SB3 didn't make any difference when using an external DAC. Found it made a big difference without the external DAC, but none with. So, I sold that...
