Darkstar Audio?

They look to be just a distributor - why deal with them rather than approach the manufacturers directly? They certainly don't have exclusive distribution for some of the product (the stuff I have heard of).
 
that Star Wars :D ..... i would ask them to send a few samples of their product/s, any hesitation to do so would show all :)

they are sending me samples of various products to try, should be interesting specially the squezebox, will give you more info as to quality and prices,

Do they do anything more than system integration? Why couldn't you just make similar products up yourself.
 
i am afraid that more people, unlike us are going towards the s-boxes and convience of sacrifice of sound and love of real hi-fi units regardless of make, sad i know, i can no longer desing or advice others on how and what, as i have being bitten more then once,

Bollocks to it.
What we are talking about is in essence a very simple system consisting of storage, DAC andfront end (ie squeezebox). Can we not, between us, come up with a system to beat all others at a much cheaper price. With all the expertise and desire that we have on this forum for all things hi-fi, can we do something about it?
