I know one of you guys has a good digital one, but I cannot find it... :shame:

It is for my sister in law, it has to be transportable and sound nice...

No brainer this one - Denon D-M31 system.

It costs about £250-300 in the UK.

Looks good, but not properly transportable, what did someone here had that apparently sounded good...

I think you might be talking about the Sony one that Dino (cookiemonster) has. It uses Sony S-Master digital amplification. If I remember it's the Sony CMTCPX1. I've seen them for sale in FNAC (Chiado).

I haven't heard it but sideshowbob reckons it sounded amazing. I don't think it's that much smaller than the Denon one though.

Michael.

She already has a Tivoli PAL...

Yes, that Sony looks like what she wants... ;)

She got the SONY, god, we couldnt believe the sound of the damn thing, incredible...

It's good, isn't it? Surprised the hell out of me. There might be something in this digital amp malarkey...

She was arriving home, so, before she entered the room, we set the Sony on a coffee table in front of the AV, and played Bob Dylan Slow train comming SACD, BT... ;)

Then we asked if she liked the sound of the AV with Michael's Eupens, she said it sounds great, we had trouble convincing her it was the mini, wich she imediately took to her room, before anyone had any ideas... :D
