garyi said:Also is the A1 an SLR, if so can the lens/es be used on a new canon?
andyoz said:The only thing I would say against the D70 is the LCD display is just a bit too small. I have taken pictures that look like real crackers on the LCD but are decidely average when downloaded. Even zooming in on the D70 LCD doesn't show all the faults.

the new DSLR system of Canon.

interetsing you still get that with a D70......what size is hte display on those 2 inch?
andyoz said:The D70's display is 1.8 inches but it displays images with a slim black border and text at the bottom so it the image size is effectively only just bigger than a 1.5inch display.
garyi said:Another thing to consider is that these screens will not work to take a shot. Some people miss this fact having been used to point and shoots. Canon/Nikon DSLRs cannot be virtue of the design be used in this way. The Oly E10/E20 could because it was not quite an SLR I am not sure about more recent offerings.
MO! said:The pentax has a good "feel" about it. Certainly worth a look.
MO! said:The viewfinder alone made the extra cost worth it over the D50, .
DavidF said:sorry, cross purposes?
I meant the viewfinder rather than the screen; the nikons 5700 electronic one is less than ideal. i wondered if the ones on DSLRs are any better?
MO! said:Pop into your local jessops or such and have a look through the D80. It's big and bright and simply great. Don't think there's much that comes close to it.
