Do all TVC passive preamps sound the same?

I've been dying to ask this question.

Do tvc preamps pretty well all sound the same. I've noticed that reviews of A/B between them seem to bounce back with there being little differences. I know there are tweaks and debates around silver wire versus copper etc etc but the characteristics all seem to boil down to similar characteristics and sound. Yes? Or am I under a misapprehension? They are certainly IMHO better than non TVC passive's - though a friend of mine isn't so convinced on this. Any musings folks?

They sound very similar in my system. I susect that is because it is driving a very high impedance of 1M Ohm.

From the ones I've heard they have the same flavour ...in the same way as stepped attenuators sound different from the rotary [conductive plastic types] but each has a family sound.

Sounds like a potential bake-off. There must be a fair few varieties owned by the various members of this forum.
