I have an analogue dial up, and an old PC (pentium I, 200, win 98)

Im looking for a site that will help me to discover new music with easy to use, easy to find music downloads.

I then want to follow this by buying the music that want to explore the most.

The site Im looking for has got to have small enough files that I can download a whole song in less than ten minutes (analogue line, small hard drive/slow processor remember!)

Ive been downloading clips from Amazon to try out new bands, but the 15 seconds you get arent enough to tell you a great deal.

Anyone got any great suggestions?

Sorry this isnt really a hifi thread.

Thanks for your help.

Hi Bottleneck,

Put simply, it just isnt as easy as it used to be. Audiogalaxy used to rule the music downloading world, and they had enormous choice of music at many bitrates.

Nowadays, your best off trying one of the standard P2P applications, I'd recommend...

Soulseek
http://www.slsknet.org/download.html

WinMX
http://www.winmx.com

I would no longer recommend Kazaa, because its networks are now flooded with garbage, but you could still try it if you were desperate.

I'd say the most stuff can be found with DC++ but its a bit of a hassle at first.

Hope this helps a little...
