Took delivery of a Black Slink IC yesterday.
It was destined to fill the gap between pre and my new power amps:rolleyes:
So its between CDp and amp, very happy with the change, much more clarity and openess. Even Mrs Penance asked what i had changed so it must be good;)
Although, clarity and detail extraction could be viewed as possibly nearing cold and anlytical i reckon i can live with it.
It came fitted with Furutech locking RCA's and an earth lead at one end (is this pseudo ballanced?)
So 2 questions, the earth lead end to amp or CDp?
Presently at amp end due to no earth post on CDp, but im sure theres a way round it if needed.
Would the addition of bullets be a plan stan? possibly even silver bullets

Probably best used between pre and power, but in any case the norm is to have the ground connection at the source end. This link says you may get treble roll-off if you have it the other way.

    Penance,

With the black slink I had, I noticed absolutely no difference at all whether the earth lead was connected to the source end, the amp end or not at all!

The cable is pretty transparent and detailed. If it sounds clinical, it could just be letting through more of the signal. If you source is bright, the black slink will let that brightness through.

    Cheers, Neil

    Thanks neil,

yep, i swapped it round and left the earth lead un-attached and noticed not much diff
source if a Jupiter, not really bright. but it does tend towards a brighter sound in my system, ill leave it a few days yet to see how it goes.

They are supposed to have the earth connected at the source, if they have writings, just keep them running from source...

I use WBT midline, compared with bullets, preferred WBT...

Also, they are a bitch running-in, wait at least a month until they sound as they should, and keep them playing a lot... :JPS:
