Second hand CD-Players, Rega Planet, Shengya, Arcam etc.

Does anyone have any experience of these players, information seems thin on the internet.

How would they compare to my current Marantz or other similarly prices CD-players (£250-£300)?

    Thanks

    Andrew

Hi, I owned one for a few years before I got it converted into a transport for a dpa dac. fun sound, very lively great for rock, maybe a bit in your face, but planty of detail.

However, They are quite old now and reliability was always an issue with dpa kit. my DAC circuit board needed replacement a couple of times. Please bear in mind that dpa are no more, so if it needs repairing then you are on your own. Because of this, I wouldnt pay very much for one (no more than £150)

That was lucky, I didn't know they were out of business.

Has anyone heard of Shengya CD-S3, I heard it was the original version of the vincent CDP but have no idea what they are like.

Also, how would the Rega Planet and Arcam Alpha 9 fit in?

    Thanks

Would a Rega Planet MK1 be an upgrade from my Marantz or would it be better to save for a more expensive player?

    Thanks
