if i place a bid on something thats already been bid on and it goes up as a proxy bid, if no one else bids do i pay the full amount?

Rob, bid what you are prepared to pay.

Say its currently at £20, and you put a max bid of £50.

If someone bids 40 quid, it will go up to 40 quid but you will still be the highest bidder. If the auction ends you win the auction at 41 quid.

If some one out bids you obviously you bid again.

If the auction ends with no more bids, you pay £21 and think yourself a lucky man.
