emu 0404 external dac question

hello,

I recently purchased emu 0404. Although it sound beautiful, I was thinking of 2 possible ways to improve:

1. upgrade the emu, with rca straight on the card to get rid of the breakoutcable, maybe some better parts on the card itself or:

2. buy an external dac, derek shek d2.


anyone with experience on this issue?
