Just bought myself a Powerbook mostly to make music with (see http://www.audiosynth.com/).

Nice thing, OS X appears to be a reasonable OS, actually has a bash shell and most of the unix and developer tools included, but it doesn't have any way to make a bit copy of an audio CD a la EAC or Feurio AFAICT. What are the options (iTunes doesn't count, I need a straight disk copy program). Freeware would be nice.

Just out of interest Ian, what are you trying to do? I'm intrigued.

Very often I need to make CD->CD copies of stuff (nothing under copyright, obviously).

Toast looks like it may do the job. I'll check out the disk image thing too, thanks Gary.

Edit: having looked at Gary's link, I see there's a port of the unix xcdroast which is exactly the kind of thing I'm after. Thanks Gary.
