OK, not a film, but I've been working my way through a few Family Guy DVDs lately.

The Simpsons has always been a clear leader for cartoon comedy, but it's getting harder to call between Simpsons and Family Guy.

Loads of huMOur and some of it will have you close to tears with laughter.

Any other fans out there? Has the Simpsons met its match?

Only real annoyance with the DVDs is that there's no "play all" feature.

Yes I got a few of the dvds for my birthday, very funny. And yes the DVDs are annoying :)
I think it did meet its match, and some of the futuramas were funny too, I reckon thats why they got cancelled- simpsons is worth too much money to fox and the other two were starting to invade on the turf. Shame.

Family guy is brilliant!!!

when wondering why he was up for promotion at work..."Maybe its because I can say all 51 states in a qtr of a second?"...."khghk"

I really dont know why that one got me, I was crying fits of laghter for hours after:) Just thinking about it makes me laugh.

Peter (after Lois tells him he's childish): "If I'm a child that means you're a pedophile, and I'll be damned if i'm going stand here and take this from a pervert."

Stewie is the best....

Lois: What's going on down here?
Stewie: Oh, we're playing house.
Lois: That boy's all tied up.
Stewie: Roman Polanski's house

I think the funniest MOment for me was when Peter's being asked his name. Trying to come up with a fake one he looks around and sees a Pea, the a Tear.... then a Griffin flies past.

Genius!

I think Family Guy dares to go where The Simpsons doesn't - it's got a bit more hair on its balls! The Simpsons has become a bit too conservative in its most recent seasons, probably in order to maintain its popularity with the general public, and as such Family Guy (and not forgetting South Park) provide far more scathing satire.

Speaking of not a film, theres a film! Stuie Griffin the Untold Story. Its great :)

Theres a forum I use with lots of people from the US on, don't know if its out here but it can be downloaded, they sorted me out with all the stuff to do it.

EDIT: sorry should have said, its a straight to dvd

ebay is full of copies! And I do mean "copies"!

Join Stewie, Lois, Peter, Meg, Chris and Brian in their most subversive, shocking and hysterically funny adventure yet with this full-length adaptation of the cult status TV Show. When Stewie, everybody's favourite maniacal baby genius has a near death experience at his first swimming lesson, he is temporarily distracted from his plans for world domination. Determined to make the most of his time on the planet, Stewie decides to turn his back on his evil ways forever and start anew!

With great difficulty he endeavours to turn his thoughts from matricide and even clean up his foul mouth with the help of the ever-inebriated family pet Brian. Stewie's new lease of life takes an unexpected turn when he sees a man who is his spitting image on television. Deciding immediately that this man must be his real father (after all, how could he possibly be genetically related to the dim witted Peter?) Stewie and Brian embark on a unique cross-country roadtrip to confront the man in question. However, the duo's journey leads Stewie to discover truths far more vile and shocking than anything found in his diaper!

Isaac, how does the film compare to the series? Can they keep it going for long enough to make a full feature?

Shame on you for taking so long to get hooked!

yes, they're badly edited together too but its still funny, particularly when the dog takes him out drinking, the MASH bit is class

Series 4 now on DVD

Looking at the amazon reviews though, seems it's still running on tv (up to about 24 episodes), so this is only part of the series... sorry, "season". Might be worth waiting.

Anyone seen it yet?

I have half of the latest series on dvd from the states - pure comic genius. Now they have come back they have more freedom and its even closer to the knuckle now.

A heads up.

play.com have Seasons 1-5 for £9.99 each including p+p!

bbc3 have been showing loads recently. Praise be to the sky+ series link gods.

I got series 1 and 2 for christmas. Superb...

I think my favourite bit was from stewie (of course):

"Look! I'm writing obscenities on the wall!"
He's written Poppycock

:D

That li'l rascal!

I got series 5 for my birthday, and also series 1 of American dad. Not had a chance to watch much of American Dad, but looks good.

I bored of The Simpsons some time back. I always thought Futurama was a far superior series anyway. Family Guy kicks The Simpsons ass - much more geared for adults, daring, irreverent and politically incorrect.

What does everyone think of Seth MacFarlane's other creation - American Dad?
