Another day another forum - well it can seem that way lately given the number of places out there to talk audio.

So where do you choose to spend your time online, and why?

    I'll kick-off with a couple.

    - PFM

Probably the broadest of the churches in terms of opinion, nicely placed in the centre ground and with a great DIY section and community. Also has the best music room IMO, and the photo section is a real bonus.
Most threads on audio will attract diverse opinion and therefore make an interesting read.

    - AoS

Wasn't keen in the early days and honestly didn't think it would last, not to mention the odd ding-dong with the owner along the way :)

Visited again recently and I'd now say this is the best of what are often called the 'subjectivist' leaning forums. Excellent range of discussion and it seems to be developing a specialism for vintage audio, with lots of good stuff on old Tannoys, Quads, Technics DD etc.
A good read even for those like myself who hold a quite different view of the audio world.

    Over to you......

Just here, and a Peugeot 306 forum :) I'd never do nay work otherwise! When I do read PFM I end up feeling annoyed about most of the opinions I read.

I call regularly in here, but also visit PFM, Wigwam and the Crossovernetwork, usually lurking and trying to buy vinyl.

My main recommendation would be for Steve Hoffman's forum (great for pressing / mastering info etc), it's the only forum other than here and pfm, that I regularly post on, though I also visit / browse / lurk on WigWam, AoS, Audio Karma, Klipsch, Yahoo Tannoy and Quad groups, Audio Asylum, Vinyl Engine, Lenco Heaven and the Shergold Guitar forum. I use Audio Asylum and Audio Karma in a different way in that I'll only go there to search for specific content as they are too fast moving to keep an eye on everything that's happening. I've even been known to visit Romy The Cat's forum, plus, whilst I can only understand the English content, www.review33.com is good too with huge Tannoy, LS3/5a type threads etc.

    Tony.

I mainly visit pfm, Audiosmile, Speakerplans, DIY Audio and Lansing Heritage and occasionally lurk on wigwam's diy section.
All out of habit or on the search for/ share some tech knowhow.

Here, Wigam, I look at PF occasionally but its mostly Linn and Naim there, DIY audio of course too;-), Lotus/Caterham 7 (Blatchat), Pistonheads and when I had a SL-1210 AOS - long since gone:)

Forgot to say why... Cos' it's fun to see what folk get up to, get new ideas and share what you've done.

PFM mostly - for reasons Rob outlines, though mostly I'm interested in music, photo and DIY rooms. Pistonheads for car/driving silliness, and here.

Also reading Steve Hoffman's forum more recently - lots of good stuff in there.

There are a few already mentioned I have no interest in.

pfm - It's my ancestral home being the very first forum I ever joined. It also has an ace record shop.

    Linn forum - I own an LP12...........

    AOS/WAM/Audiosmile occasionally.

Other places just to check all is in order :JOEL:

Mostly just PFM (and mostly the music and off-topic 'rooms' there) these days.

I'm a member of more audio forums than I can remember, but am permanently banned from one.

Squeezebox forum - for just that.

Quad Yahoo Group - very recently.

    Dada forum, also recently.
(They are working on a 520f for me.)

i have always being on this foruum and will not like to jump to others, for those that might be "tuning in" let's make it a bit more active in every subjects and converse more in all subjects, after all this is a gift of communicating that helps us all, that is my opinion, IMO , i think that the change of name should not matter at all,

...I thought Slime Devils aren't actually supposed to be sentient. Or at least not that sentient.

    All my childhood illusions shattered.
