Getting it all back together again... Is just what I am in the middle of doing. Having got myself into a serious financial mess, it's all coming together again. The latest acquisition is a secondhand Thorens TD160 Super turntable that I am going to fit my Alphason arm to. Along with the Denon DL160 I can't wait to get it all up and running. I had a Thorens TD160 BC around 25 years ago but I can't believe the build quality of this TD160 Super when compared. It's all rather exciting...!!!

Glad to hear you are doing well.

I had a Thorens 160 super 25 years ago , too; + still have the same one!

I'm dead envious you are doing yours up.

I await the right moment..whenever that is.

    Keep us posted!

Nice pictures, but they would look a lot better without the boarder effect ;)

I like the look of the turntable arm.

You know, I'm never sure when the right moment is for anything. I just take it as it comes. During the last six years I just about lost everything as I was made redundant owing around 13k but got together with a new woman and a new location in Britain and started afresh. It really is all coming together again.

Regarding Hi-Fi, I love the Alphason tonearm. It's an Alphason Xenon MCS that I've had for a long time now. I still intend to get it re-wired at some point as it's wired with Van Den Hul wiring at the moment and I think I could do better. I will have to experiment a bit with the springing on the Thorens turntable but it'll get there in the end. I have no plans to change the Denon cartridge. For the long term, I'd just like to expand my vinyl collection and to that end, I've just ordered Marianne Faithful's new album on vinyl from Amazon.

    Nice one Sean

I had an Alphason Xenon - they're quite nicely made aren't they?

Good luck with getting your hifi just right, and with future work etc.

    Cheers
