Dorian is superb in many ways, dynamic and bursting with detail with real hear-through clarity but it can be a little toppy in the wrong system. Good if your speakers roll off a little early.

Also consider the Dynavector DV17. Very crisp and lively without the top end sting that can effect the Dorain. Lean, taut bass too.

The Audio Technica AT33PTG should also be on the list. Recent price rises mean it now costs around £350 but it's every bit as competitive as the Lyra and Dynavector. A very neutral cartridge tonally and it will track anything.

All medium compliance and will work well in your arm.

thanks Rob, i googled the A.T and see its japan only, but some promising reviews about it, i don't want sharp top ends so the lyra is probably off the list

The Dyn D17D3 sounded superb through the EAR and now sounds even better through my new AQVOX:D

I haven't heard any of the others, but reports of the AT33PTG have been outstanding if you can get one.

There is a deal on somewhere for the Benz Micro Glider but i can't remember where.I think it was a cartridge exchange scheme.

    Good hunting
    All the best

I'm using and selling a Grado Statement Master on my Michell Tecnoarm .. and it's a fantastic cartridge for the price
If you're interested there is the advice on the market but pay attention the Statement serie is 0.5mv output

Also consider ZYX R-100 02H and Ortofon Rondo Bronze.
There's a low use Shelter 501 MkII for sale over at Wigwam - could be a good bet!
