Is it possible to use standard open-ear headphones for the Roberts Sports radio? The reason for this question is that I simply can't get on with the supplied 'in-your-ear' headphones. This renders the radio useless for these ears, at least.

    Many thanks.

Yes, of course. Unfortunately, Roberts don't specify the headphone output level or impedance, so you will have to experiment to make sure your new headphones are loud enough, but any normal headphone will work.

That's good news - unexpected too. I didn't think standard headphones would be able to pick up the audio output from such a small radio. Perhaps I should try and contact Roberts directly regarding impedance etc.

    Thanks, Sergeauckland.

You're welcome. The size of the radio doesn't affect the audio output, what limits that is the voltage on the batteries, unless there are special steps taken to increase that inside the radio, which will adversely affect battery life, so it's generally not done.

Roberts should be able to advise the minimum impedance that the headphone output can drive, but what will limit loudness is most likely to be the sensitivity of the headphones. Fortunately, unless you have a local shop that will let you try different headphones, you can buy headphones on-line and return the ones that don't suit.
