I think I might have scored a £70-£100 LP for £4 plus p&p!!

Is this what I have?
http://www.netsoundsmusic.com/nsdsii/1/170535220/1/solilai/2/6/9999.html

Im not sure though and wondered if any of the record collecting folk could help.

The LP is a red label CBS, Pierre Bensusan 'Solilai'.

It has a stamp on the label ''for CBS demonstration only, not for sale".

I just need to know if I should be careful with it, or if it really is worth just £4!

Thanks!!

Some photos attached.

I don't know about yours specifically but I've seen stuff like this on netsounds before, people just pushing their luck- I have 'Live' by 13th floor elevators, original press, not worth that much but there was a shop on netsounds selling for £170 odd quid?! You may have a goodun though?

Never heard of it and it's not in the RCRRPG, I'd have charged 3-4 quid if I'd found it. I agree that many Gemm sellers charge insane prices (and often never shift the item as a result).

Tony.

thanks Tony/Anex.

Im glad you have the RCRRPG (record collectors pricing guide or something?) to check it in.

My guess then is that its pretty rare on vinyl, but too niche for people to hunt for in any great number!

Thanks
Cheers
Chris

The Record Collector Rare Record Price Guide is far from infallible, there are many valuable records missing and a huge amount in there that would be hard to shift at half the price. In my experience the only real way of gauging a records value is to watch a few copies go through eBay as this gives an average of what real punters are prepared to pay, not what price dealers want to ask. In the case of the record you have I'm of no use as I've never even heard of it!

Tony.
