Hi

I have a pair of Ruark Templar II speakers The problem is the treble/vocals don't sound right so i was wondering if anyone knew where i could either get replacement or suitable upgrades for the tweeters the mid/bass drivers sound really nice but the vocals are missing something confirmed by a couple of other people.

Thanks in advance

Chris

I wouldn't change the drivers , as a rule Ruark make good products and the speakers will have been voiced with those drivers in mind .

Have they always been this way or is it something new , has something else in the system changed ? .

Have you played around with positioning ? , moving speakers around
and experimenting with toe in can make significant changes .

Hi Early

I bought these 2nd hand off ebay last year and they weren't in the condition as described in the sale when i got them but that is a different story... they haven't sounded right from the beginning but i have changed all the other weak links in my system and they the speakers are just not right i have switched them with my friends linn Katans and it sounds amazing but don't really have the money to replace speakers at the minute. I have moved the speakers around in the room, so i am getting the best of a bad job but still holding out on these because i do believe they will sound very good if i can get to the bottom of the problem.

Re:Ruark templar II

Hi Pete,

Its because the cones have been pushed in that the vocals aren't right,(I think) it doesn't look like they have been changed but i have just bought a pair of Linn Ninkas cos they were at a bargain price. So just wondering what to do with the Ruark's. Any news on the silver/gold sand filled?

Regards
Chris

Re:Ruark templar II

Hi Pete,

The vocals sound a bit muffled and are cold. I was talking to someone the other day and they were describing the fact that they will still work but won't work correctly because they have been pushed in can't think what he called it but I'm sure you will have an idea.... It's something to do with the way it fires the sound round.
If that makes any sense.

Regards
Chris

Do the domes look creased ?
are they the sticky sort ?

contact ruark they are very good with post sale service

The only real way to find out would be a replacement pair of tweters ...these speakers should sound fast and sweet from what I remember with a decent bottom end
