Hello! I am new to this community looking for help fixing my receiver! I will try my best to explain my situation below
I went to use my receiver (pioneer vsx305 paired with paradigm 11se mk2) and the audio was super quiet. I did a little digging online and read the main cause could be the main power capacitors or the volume potentiometer. The easiest for me to do would be replacing the capacitors, so I ordered what I thought would be the right ones from Digi-Key (part# 1189-63MXG6800MEFCSN25X45-ND) After installing them with the correct polarity, my receiver is now playing loud again, but pops on , hums at idle and pops off. I did a little more digging, and apparently these don't have a listed ESR on digikey, so I ordered another pair with a listed low ESR (part# 338-4413-ND) these capacitors have a listed ESR of 59mohm @120Hz, which is the best I could find in a snap capacitor with a diameter less than 30mm as anything bigger wouldn't fit the board. I installed these yet again to my receiver, and the same problem occurs, plays loud, with popping and hum at idle. I should mention that the receiver isn't fully put back together when tested, only the top cover is off, and the pcb is connected to the bottom panel, which I believe is a good enough ground for operation. Before I buy a new receiver or sink more money into this one I was looking for a second opinion. If you need any additional information please let me know. Thanks!
