Do women (our other halves) really dislike the kit we think they do? My other half tends to surprise me and likes what I would call big ugly speakers with no grills. She said Rob's Rogers LS3/6 speakers with the grills off looked 'expensive'.

She also likes those egg-like Vivid-Audio speakers.

Maybe it is just her age (25?), but I've also heard older women say they like stuff their male partner thought they wouldn't. I was in a shop demoing the Kensai + Advantage system trying to entice a dealer and a couple came and listened in. The man said 'they sound great but do they have grills?' They don't I said. Then his wife said 'I wouldn't want grills, the drivers look lovely'.

Whaddaya think? Maybe you could get those big JBL's past her after-all? Has she ever surprised you by liking 'manly' kit?

Sounds to me like an opening gambit from someone who is about to sell a very large set of speakers that they can't get past their other half (SWMBO).
Or am I just being cynical?
Also don't expect too many replies about womens opinions on their appreciation of the size of 'manly' kit. It's taken generations of men many years to convince them that size doesn't matter!

More convincing the little lady if there is a little lady there in the first place (nauseating video IMHO)

My wife likes the horns. Says they look attractive and like flowers. The sound she is in no doubt about.
They are probably tolerated by her as they are not in the lounge;-)

i have no problerm here, my wife loves music as well as what i use for hi-fi, we ejoy music of all sorts at weekends late with nice rioja, and finally she has come to apreciate my tannoy's.
