High End Direct Drive Turntable.

That was the price before they realised how close the sound was to the Balance according to Herr Brinkmann. At High End last year, the expected price was twice that - slightly less than the Le Grange.

It might be twice that with the arm the arm and cartridge. Why bother having two decks at the same price point?

There was about £1,000 between the two IIRC - and no that was not with arm or cart. Hardly the same price point. The reason given was that it sounded remarkably similar to the LeGrange so could not be sold cheaply as it would destroy their current market. Maybe someone could check with Brinkmann.

Was that direct from a stonemason?

Here you are Alan,

£250. This one is cut to take a maximum of four tone arms.

Julian,

As a turntable is a mechanical transcription device, a transducer, I think it's pretty easy to understand the benefits of decent isolation and it's measurable too. Electronics are a different matter IME. Would you agree?

Ah just the latest bit to go missing. If it's not that, it's the preamp, or the CD player or phono stage. Hopefully have them all back soon though - I miss playing vinyl at the moment. I need to get a headshell that isn't twisted too.
