Hills and Valleys (another subwoofer thread)

I've done this with my MJA Pro 50 and my Dyn 1.3MkIIs and got the best results that way. Using ETF software it was clearly giving me the flattest response (and subjectively it was the best aswell).

Michael.

I'm going to pursue this option, because I've had Merlin's tipoff and another about that. And it did cross my mind that it could work.

thanks for the tip Michael and Merlin, best response so far from sub. I can't help thinking that B&W put a nice 30Hz port tuning in their CDM1Se tho'.

However(and somewhat leftfield), in the past I have switched the phase and overlapped with the mains. Recently did it with the Velodyne. Carefully applied (and with a lot of tweaking), this approach can cause the subwoofer to act like an EQ by sending an out of phase signal to cancel out the main's peaks.

i've tried to do that twice with cdm9nt and stadium 3.

first thing that i saw that it's realy possible.
second thing - it was quite amaizing how much difference each "click" of REL's control's made.

eventually i baned it because i didn't succeed to achive all around satisfactory result - yes, room modes were gone, but music was boring and unexciting.........
