I have no idea, my CDP has a minor fault with the rear audio connectors meaning it will often go into one channel. This can probably be fixed for around £30 but if a £100 new CDP will perform better I could just upgrade it.

What do you think?

I have no access to the underneath of the board, it would mean removing the transformers, the DAC board etc, I know I will just end up breaking it.

looks pretty much like my cd5001ose which has been modified quite a bit, i along with some help managed to elevate the sound of my cd player to that of units costing up to a grand, and i was a diy virgin as well. they are quite easy to work on and it sounds as though you have a very minor problem. your cd player should still sound better than anything under £200 so it's worth keeping

I also had a 6000 ose le, but it was easily bettered by my then next cdp, the Rotel RCD 02, and these can be picked up fairly cheaply, usually around a third of their £380 rrp.
Having said that, if yours will only cost £30 to fix, stick with it, unless of course the upgrade itch has started.........

I will see how much my car costs on Monday if I get some change I will consider it. My other main source is a M Audio 24/96 both going into a Cambridge Azure 640A.
