HOW MUCH!!! - Kaka

What credit crunch?

My thoughts exactly, it's sickening during these terrible economic times to see this amount of money banded about, not to worry I've heard the stands will be empty this year anyway as they nobody can afford the season ticket prices

Just a good player .. I'm not one of his fans but I prefer the younger Pato to him

Part of me would love to see it happen.

Another part would love to see him not be persuaded by the money.

Sky Sports news is quoting along the lines of "I'll stay as long as AC Milan want me".

I'm sure they do, but I doubt it's anything like £500k a week!

I'll do it for £50k a week - or even £5k a week if you're pushing me to accept a minimum wage...

Mmmm... There could be something in that. Season tickets will dictate success or failure because people vote with their cash.

I'm sure your sponsorship and endorsement fees will help tide you over.

endorsement or indorsement?

I just cannot imagine how ANY player can make over £500k per week (not to mention the transfer fee) for the club in order for the club to pay him this wage and make a profit.

I wonder how many clubs are in danger of going under/take-over.

I doubt the club itself will make enough to cover that, but with the amount of disposable cash at the consortiums erm..... disposal, I'm sure they're happy to put the money into their hobby.

As much as I'd love a few billionaires to invest into Celtic, there's always the risk of what about if they get bored?

Football teams are toys today. Man City are a toy of a chap with billions to play with, as a consequence they have no debt and can spend any a mount of money. They are the least likely to go under of all the premieship teams. Man U on the other hand are a toy of the Glazers and are in debt to the tune of £600 million, a large chunk of which is owed to AIG. Chelsea are technically in debt to Abramovich who arranged his financing of the club as loans, presumably for tax avoidance reasons. Liverpool are desperately trying to find a buyer/backer.

As was mentioned on the news today, it's going to be hard to get good players to go to a club with a generally poor performance reputation, and one which is currently hovering above the relegation zone - can't help but feel that the draw of money (vulgarity perhaps?) isn't enough to get players to join.

Nevertheless the talks have begun.

Indeed, I heard about the talks this morning, they're persistent I'll give them that!

I do find it interesting that other clubs have started ripping holes out of the amount of money being talked about, like the amount they pay their top players is somehow considered normal for the average person - green eyed monster anyone?
