Sorry guys, but I just want one thing clear before I experiment something out of it. I read in Audusa site, that using a cd mat is as simple and normal as using a cd. You just place the mat at the top of the cd, lay it flat and just play it. No danger of being stuck inside or whatsoever. And no need to stick the mat on the cd.

If I want to try other material, will it be the same story? As long as the material is thin enough and flat enough?

    thanks for any help.

    regards

Just about everybody I can think of who's tried this particular piece of snake oil (er, as many as two people!) have ended up with the mat inside the player.

What got stuck into your players, the real statmats or improvised ones?

As well as them falling off, I've always been a little unsure about the added mass meaning the spinning motor has to work harder. Just me being silly or do others reckon this might be a problem too?
