Importing speakers from USA

Due to interest rates at the moment, does anyone know of good hi-fi sites, I can order speakers like the dynaudio's from in the states that will ship to the UK?

I don't think new speakers would be worth it,being heavy you are going to pay alot of shipping costs,on top of tht your import taxes,so think it through carefully.

You right about the weight issue, the speakers am thinking of weigh about 33kg, but am thinking even with that, may stillsave some money.

My sub was imported and I think it weighs about 25-30 kilos.

The shipping was $210 door to door. Import duty of 4.5% is payable on the purchase price + shipping and then 17.5% VAT on top of that + a handling fee from the import company aswell £10-£30 usually.

It was SVS who only sell their own subs direct, not any other brands. I think some of the USA online stores will ship to the UK but I've never looked into which ones do.
