Quick question gents...
I want to use one of these "volume control" cd players straight into a power amp to get rid of a few boxes. Considering a Wadia 581se (if I can sneak the £££ past the missus) or a dcS P8i (pretty cheap these days) or an accuphase of some descript. However lots of sites suggest that matching input/output impedenced from player to amp is important and I, basically, haven't got a clue what that means! The amp in question is an old Krell Class A battleaxe FSA80... And I can't seem to find any impedence figures for it.

This may or may not be a big issue but I thought I should clear it up before I blow it up. Cheers!

hi oscar, source straight into power...lovely ! , perhaps you could consider a passive (pre) volume control, have never used anything other than passive with Valve (tube) amps and have never had any problem direct into transistor.

more details and specs to be found in the link. (hit Cancel button on language pack)

Probably a Freudian slip.
We know a joke about that :
Paddy says to Murphy " you know yesterday i had one of those freudian slips"
Murphy asks what that is , so paddy says, it's when you are thinking one thing but say something else thats on your mind.
How so?
Well...I went to into the travel agent to buy a ticket to Pittsburg but the agent had a lovely pair of breasts and I accidentally siad , "a ticket to Tittsburg" instead !
Ahh...I understand says Murphy.
A week later M says to P , you know I had one of them slips too!
How so asks P.
M says, well I was sitting at the table with the wife having dinner , and I suddenly said " so why the f**k did I ever marry you and let you ruin my life!!"

I'll get my coat......
