Hi! I'm pretty new to the Hi-Fi scene and I'm wondering whether this budget setup sounds good to you guys.

    Turntable: Rega Planar 1

    Preamp: Rega Fono MM MK3

    Speakers: AudioEngine A2+ (Powered)

(Possible chance to get my hands on a pair of Mission 752's, Will look for an amp accordingly)

Thanks for all replies to this thread! Much appreciated

Looks like a good start. I prefer to invest the most in speakers when starting out.

Do you know if the Kanto YU4's or the Roth VA4's would be a decent option if I chose to go with the built in Preamp route?

If your budget dictates powered speakers than I’m sure either one would work. I’m not familiar with the ones you listed so can’t odpffer an opinion.

Won't you need a preamp with a phono stage and volume control to work with the powered speakers?
