Well,i have all 3 in my house at the moment,so i conducted a little test using a cd i know better than my wife(of 15 yrs),...............Pink Moon (i know every chord, breath and pluck on this cd)

no question, for me i must be a "subjective",because I cant hear the Isolda, just the CD..............the Kimber beefs it up and the QED thins it out

is that scientific?:)

Isolda wins by a clear mile,so please stop telling me my kettle lead will work just as well:cool:

Saab,
admit it your doing this on purpose :D you know that it makes no difference at all, your just joshing with us, what colour were the blindfolds? I'm curious
I still use Isolda in the second system, works well with the Densen/Wadia combo there :)

not joshing at all:)

no question in my mind that using a cd that i know so well makes this a valid test,im convinced that this is the most important factor when testing, you need to know then piece of music better than your own voice

with Isolda, the music has more depth (i dont know the hifi speak for this,"sound stage"?),i just enjoy my music more with this cable

no joshing:)

Saab, not possible it's all a figment of your imagination and thats the cursed pair you've got too  the set that 'Turned the leader', hope you dosed in secread RA fuild :D.
Isolda works, aint found anything around the price it goes for that does as well, but then my imagination is just as bad

oh yes,RA is now on Ebay:)

ps I dont imagine anything with Mr Drake,I just............know ,the cable works,so the B&Q lawnmower extension lynch mob can kma:cool: :p

EVA CASSIDY LIVES AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! she is currently in my lounge

Saab

this has got to be asked, did you get your wife to swap the cables??;)

Saab - you got a good deal there IMO ;) . I'm quite positive though that I couldn't tell them apart from my Dynaudio OCOS cable. However, whilst they are chalk and cheese in terms of construction (Isolda is 2 flat ribbons of copper, OCOS is coaxial) they both have a key principle in common which is impedance matching so that may explain why they sound so similar (assuming that any speaker cables sound different of course :) ).

They are also the only two speaker cables I know of that you can use in un-equal lengths (left & right) without a problem - I think this is related to the impedance matching.

Don't ask me how the impedance matching works or what it is though  .

Michael.

Saab,
Are you saying after all the great debates :argue: in the last few days you still haven't learn that these f***ing cables are just snake oily stuff .......... :inferno:

Bad boy :chair:

Isolda

Saab,

Tell me more. can I justify forking out double what my amp (Sugden A21a) cost me on 2 x 6m runs of Isolda ? I live in the Canaries and cannot find a dealer to lend me some for a weekend like some jammy sods.

Cheers,
Chris

Chris

don't do it :D :D :D Even if you do, you'll have to convince yourself they sound great ;) ;) ;)

There is absolutely no way I'd risk that sort of money without being able to try them first, or buy them from somewhere that I could get my money back from if I wasn't happy with them. I'm not saying this because I don't think the Isolda is good, I haven't heard it, but that to justify a cost of double your amp you'd want it to do something pretty major wouldn't you?

Chris, in what way are u unhappy with your present system?
You have a good amp. I would think about upgrading another component. Cables ain't worth it (whether they work or not) relative to your system I suspect, IMHO of course.

Good luck with whatever u decide, but as suggested don't buy those cables blind

Chris,

I am not qualified to answer than I am afraid.I just had a few quid burning a hole and I got them s/h.You must be thinking of spending about £1000,mine cost me £180!

thats a frightening amount of money on cables
